Dr. Ralf Koslow


Dr. Ralf H. Koslow, founder of Koslow Scientific Company, passed away on August 13, 2018. Born in Berlin, Germany, he immigrated with his family to the US in 1939. He grew up in New York City, and received his Ph.D. in electrochemistry from New York University. He served in the US Army Signal Corp and was a Korean War veteran.

He discovered the need for a method to identify and sort metals inexpensively. In 1966, he founded Koslow Scientific Company, and developed and produced metal identification kits and instruments, and electrodes for electrochemical applications. Dr. Koslow’s vision, honesty, and dedication to product integrity brought KSC its worldwide renown and impeccable reputation.

He remained active in KSC until his retirement in 2007. His son, Wolf, has followed in his footsteps, retaining the KSC vision for the 21st century.

Ralf Koslow is survived by Donna, his wife of 50 years, daughters Stefany and Alex, son Wolf, and 5 grandchildren.
